Hi there, if somebody asked me to write a story about Istanbul, I’d probably end up writing a book. Its unique historical heritage, its strong cultural presence and the unbelievable skyline are only a few of the reasons I would recommend you visit this place. Every single time I’m here, I’m always amazed by its “where East meets West” atmosphere. No need to even mention the hospitality and of course, the food. Oh, that food! I swear, a Turkish gastronomic surprise lies around every corner of this “City of the World’s desire”.

Istanbul is one of the most magical cities I have ever been to. It is really absolutely unique in so many ways, and its geographical position on two continents is really reflected in its culture and lifestyle. It’s not like Paris, Rome or Madrid, it is really shifted away from the European style as we know it; but it’s not like Cairo or Tehran; Istanbul is a mix of the best of everything.

It will be noisy, people will constantly come up to you trying to sell something, you’ll step in a puddle while turning around to see what they wanted; you’ll smell rotten fish, you’ll walk through little alleyways and stones will be hanging off old houses, so close to falling. You’ll get lost in translation, you’ll get lost in the echo of each call to prayer, you’ll get  in your thoughts trying to imagine what the old grand city of Constantinople looked like, and that will be the most beautiful type of confusion and wonder. You will love every noise you hear on the streets because each sound will start making sense to you like a separate instrument in a magnificent orchestra.

As you know, nothing beats a warm Coat, so I’m in luck since Camel coats are a huge trend for 2016-2017! For this day, I choose to wear Camel coat, a must for classic adventures especially when those “celsius mates” have begun to drop. And believe me, this Coat saved me from the Istanbul cool breeze, when walking around the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Grand Bazar & Around the sea. This one is made from 100% lamb’s leather, providing me with a classy look and keeping me warm at the same time. I matched it with slim fit Chinos, you know how much I love them, a blue light classic and a Black Blazer, both ideal for layering and impeccable indoor style.

Istanbul (or as I still like to think, Constantinople) has been a dream destination of mine for many years now. I mean the Blue Mosque alone is a reason for me to travel to Istanbul, but there is just so much to discover I can’t wait to go there! And you’re right, the Camel coat is a huge trend and this one in particular looks really good! Great styling and thanks for reminding me I need to put Istanbul on my travel itinerary!
